Gestamp Wind reaches the number of 436 MW of wind power in Brazil
(Madrid, 5th November, 2014) Gestamp Wind the wind energy division of Gestamp Renewables (Corporación Gestamp), has win two new energy sale contracts in Brazil during 20 years for two wind farms.
These two projects are located in Rio Grande Do Norte, Brazil. This supposes an investment approximate of 70 million Euros and revenue of 10 million euros per year during 20 years.
With this contract Gestamp Wind has over 436 megawatts (MW)in Brazil, which 112 MW are in operation while 128 MW are under construction, and the rest is planned the construction between 2015 and 2017.
Gestamp Wind continues with its commitmentin Brazil with the development of new projects to participate in the next auction planned for the following years.
Brazil is one of the strategic markets for Gestamp Wind, where Corporación Gestamp has importants industrials investments since more than 10 years, which has been reinforced in Suape Port of the wind towers factory and other components of the same material for wind turbines.
Dionisio Fernández Auray, CEO of Gestamp Wind said that “Our objective in Brazil include the increase of additional MW that we currently has in operation and under construction. For that, we will participate in the next auctions that Brazil Government wants to organize”.
