Gestamp’s Wind first project in Turkey enters into commercial operation.
Gestamp Wind premieres in Turkey with the commissioning of its first wind farm in this country. A 24 megawatts project that involves a €35M investment and provides enough clean energy to power 30,000 homes annually.
Located near Bodrum town, the wind farm electricity production shall improve the positive effects on the environment, avoiding 47,554 tons per year of CO2 and providing a purifying effect equivalent to 2.38 million trees.
The farm commissioning is not the first group activity in Turkey. In fact, Gestamp already has an important presence producing car components, and in the near future shall unveil a wind tower manufacturing facility, aiming to also achieve a prominent position in the booming Turkish wind energy production market.
Turkey joins Spain, Belgium, USA and Brasil in the wind farms portfolio maintained by Gestamp, in this case through a Joint Venture with the Turkish company Faik Çelik Holding. Gestamp Wind is a branch of Gestamp Renewables, which forms part of Gestamp Corporation.
