Gestamp Wind has 60 MW of Wind Power operating in the U.S
Gestamp Wind concluded the launching of its first wind farm in Nebraska, USA, which has an installed capacity of 60 MW.
This last December Gestamp Wind a division of Corporacion Gestamp put into commercial operation after the proper testing and adjustment period a wind farm at Flat Water, Nebraska (U.S).
The park has installed a power capacity of 60 megawatts and consists of 40 General Electric turbines (GE 1.5xls). 1.5 MW of capacity per turbine. The park expects to surpass the 225 Grh annual power production which will be sold to Omaha Public Power District with a 20-year agreement signed by both parties.
Gestamp Wind manages the park and has increased its shares from 42% to 83%, after buying out Gallop’s participation in the project. Banco Santander maintains its initial 17% of the Joint Venture. The company ended the fiscal investment agreement with a U.S. Bank and has asked the U.S. Department of Treasury for a "Cash Grant” that would play a fundamental role in the financing of the project.
Javier Mateache, CEO of Gestamp Wind North America, said that "the implementation of this wind farm is a milestone in the consolidation of our company in North America" and later added that "This project completed its portfolio of countries with wind farms in operation and adds to the internationalization strategy of Gestarnp Wind."
