(Madrid, May 8, 2012) Gestamp Wind, the wind energy division of Gestamp Renewables (Corporacion Gestamp) has started the commercial operation of the wind farms Cabeço Preto I and Cabeço Preto IV, in Rio Grande Norte, Brazil.
Both wind farms have a capacity of 20 Mw, summing a total of 40 Mw. Each wind farm is composed by 11 turbines. The total investment was of over 67 million Euros and the expected annual revenues are of 10 million Euros.

(Madrid, August 4, 2011) Gestamp Wind, wind energy division of Gestamp Renewables (Corporación Gestamp), has been given permission by the government energy agency to bid for 260 MW in the auction happening August 17, in Brazil.
Gestamp Wind, to date has nine wind farms (190 MW) in the north east of the country. Two of this wind farms are operating and the rest are under construction; with a total investment of 338 millions of Euros. Gestamp Wind has registered eleven new projects for the next Aneel auction, expected to be held August 17.
Gestamp Wind premieres in Turkey with the commissioning of its first wind farm in this country. A 24 megawatts project that involves a €35M investment and provides enough clean energy to power 30,000 homes annually.
Located near Bodrum town, the wind farm electricity production shall improve the positive effects on the environment, avoiding 47,554 tons per year of CO2 and providing a purifying effect equivalent to 2.38 million trees.
Cabeço Preto I is one of four projects carried out by Elawan that started operating by the end of 2012 in Brazil. It is located in João Câmara in the Rio Grande do Norte region. The turbines used for this project are the Vestas V82 with a 1,65MW capacity each one.
With this project, Elawan will have 113MW in operation by the end of 2012 with the goal of reaching a total power capacity of 500MW by 2015 in Brazil alone.
